My pen name is SolMoonbeam, but you can call me Sol. My pronouns are: she/her, and I’m based in Europe.
Love in the Binary World is my debut novel which I started writing in mid-April 2024. It took me almost a year to finish writing it and in July 2025 I started sharing it on the Tapas website. Encouraged by positive reviews, I also shared Volume 1 on Wattpad and Inkitt.
Within the year, Mika and Aleksandr got amazing support, something I honestly never thought would happen! Love in the Binary World made it to the top 10 “Most Talked About Community Novels” in July 2025 on Tapas, and it was also nominated for a “New Community Novel of the Year 2025” Inkies award.
All the love from readers helped me overcome my fears and doubts and take the next step: self-publishing my story. I worked hard with my editor for over half a year to bring Mika and Aleksandr to life in a whole new way.
Love in the Binary World holds special meaning for me, not only because it’s my very first novel, which I boldly decided to start writing one day in English while being a non-native English speaker, but also because it’s a part of my healing journey…
I’ve struggled a lot over the years. There were lots of things that I couldn’t always say out loud. There was part of me that wanted to be more open, but I always held myself back. Thanks to therapy and hard work over the last few years, I was able to start loving myself more, overcome perfectionism, and self-criticism.
Love in the Binary World is an entirely fictional story that has allowed me to express myself through writing. With Mika and Aleksandr’s story, I’m able to touch topics such as bias, diversity and inclusion, mental health, and, most importantly: love.
Because everyone deserves to love and be loved.
And just like Mika and Aleksandr will discover the true meaning of love, I hope that you, dear reader, will be able to find something interesting for yourself in this story.
